US expenditures of health care reached $1.8 trillion in 2004 and continue to rise. The increase in the employer's portion of the total spending has been dramatic in recent years. Recent studies indicate that almost 50% of corporate profits now go for health care costs versus only 7% three decades ago.
Employers are actively seeking new ways to reduce health care costs without jeopardizing their ability to attract and retain workers. These factors have prompted many organizations to actively promote health and wellness at the work-site. According to USA Today about 41% of companies currently offer incentives to encourage healthier lifestyles among employees, compared with 34% in 1996. As an example, Johnson & Johnson reported that it spends $4.5 million each year on its comprehensive preventive health care programs but it estimates that without these programs their medical bills would be at least $13 million higher.
Research shows that 70% of all chronic health problems are preventable and directly linked to lifestyle. Preventable diseases cost businesses thousands of dollars a year. Recent research shows that over 50% of absenteeism at the workplace can be attributed to stress and stress-related illnesses.

Wellness Team Challenges
I developed team challenges to build teamwork and motivate your employees to take action, be pro-active and make healthy changes. Team challenges make employees accountable for their own health. Employees are challenged to take various action steps and reach specific goals in regards to their nutrition, exercise and lifestyle habits.
Action steps and goals are developed by the employees with my assistance. I guide your employees to create individualized action steps and goals that will positively impact your employee's health and result in decreased healthcare costs for you. I provide your employees with unlimited support via email and phone and am available for one-on-one wellness counseling.
Employees will be evaluated at the end of each team challenge to determine if they succeeded in doing the action steps and reaching their goals. Corporations may provide incentives and rewards to employees who accomplish their action steps and achieve their goals.
Employees are encouraged to find a co-worker to buddy-up with during each team challenge. The buddy system provides accountability and support and encourages new friendships in the workplace.

School / Kids Wellness
Facts
Research shows that the obesity rates of kids are increasing and their general health is decreasing. Kids are developing adult diseases and injuries such as type 2 diabetes, postural dysfunctions and repetitive stress injuries. This may be the first generation where the kids die younger than their parents.
Kids eat high amounts of non-nutrient dense foods:
School lunches, snacks and fluids are made up of refined processed foods that provide kids with no nutrition or natural energy. Kids eat sugary foods they get from vending machines located in the school hallways. Kids drink more soda and fruit juice loaded with sugar compared to pure energizing water. Kids are given sugary snacks that provide them with temporary energy and two hours later they crash. Kids are not introduced to healthy foods or healthy food preparation.
Kids do not get enough exercise:
Kids are less active now than ever before in history. School recess has been taken away forcing kids to sit in their chairs for longer periods of time. Kids are more sedentary due to watching hours of TV, playing video games and sitting at the computer. Kids' health is negatively affected by carrying heavy backpacks with pore posture and not properly training for sports or activities.
Kids have unhealthy habits:
Kids establish their habits from their parents, adults and friends. If parents have unhealthy habits, kids will have unhealthy habits. Kids are taught to quickly eat breakfast or go without breakfast to save time. Kids are rushed from one activity to the next without truly enjoying the moment. They are taught to quickly eat their lunch so they can move on to the next activity. Kids learn to throw a frozen dinner in the microwave and call that dinner. Kids take on the stress of the adults around them.
Change is needed NOW!!! Parents and school professionals are beginning to see the connection between kids' activity levels, the foods they eat, their energy for life and success in school. The school system, parents, teachers and the community need to work together, set a positive example and teach kids healthy habits at a young age.

The obesity problem of our nation is an epidemic. Over 60% of Americans are overweight. The fastest growing segment of the population that is becoming obese is our kids. Americans spend over $33 billion on dieting products and services each year. 50 million Americans are on some kind of “diet” at all times and less than 6% of weight-loss attempts succeed. Our DNA is even against us. It is a fact that our bodies are designed to keep weight on for survival.
Americans are sick, tired and obese due to the Standard American Diet (SAD) and Lifestyle. The standard American diet is filled with animal fats, hydrogenated fats, processed foods, caffeine and sugar. It is low in the foods our body needs to thrive including water, organic whole foods, fiber, complex carbohydrates, clean protein and plant-based foods. Our bodies are not designed to process the foods and toxins we ingest today.

Creating a new life can be a terribly complicated task. 6.1 million women and their partners are currently struggling with infertility. With the intense desire to conceive, many couples are faced with the often confusing twists and turns of conventional fertility treatments. Teleclasses
Teleclasses are Wellness Education Programs and discussions conducted via the phone. They can be interactive where everyone is participating or informative where you can just sit back relax and listen. I conduct teleclasses for groups on a variety of health and wellness topics including all Wellness Education Program topics. Teleclasses can be uniquely designed to meet your group's needs.
