About Kelly Bradley, MSPT, CHHC, CNC, CPI, RYT

I'm the founder and executive director of Bradley Wellness, LLC, based in Washington, DC. I'm a private practice clinician and professional wellness educator. My passion is healthy living and teaching others simple, easy and fun ways to live well. I have spent my life experiencing and learning ways to live well and be healthy and happy in this fast-paced world. I am authentic, real and I walk my talk. I am honest, compassionate and sincere. I want you to make healthy changes, take action and live healthy. I provide you with the tools that you need to be pro-active about your health and make your dreams come true.

I have a Master’s of Science degree in Physical Therapy and am a licensed physical therapist in Washington, DC and Maryland. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. I am certified in pilates and have lectured nationally on the topics of physical therapy and pilates. I have conducted national pilates teacher training certification programs for healthcare professionals. I am a certified yoga instructor and am Yoga Alliance Registered. I have participated in numerous continuing education courses in yoga that include yoga for osteoporosis, pre/post natal yoga and yoga for back pain. I am a certified instructor and trained under Master Trainer, Alesia Fowler, who has practiced exercise for 19 years. I am certified in Yamuna Body Rolling Level I.

I primarily use a combination of pilates, gyrotonic exericse, yoga, body rolling and physical therapy techniques to treat patients and work with clients. I am an expert in movement, anatomy/physiology, body mechanics, posture and ergonomics. I am very passionate about exercise and movement. I personally do cardiovascular exercise and pilates, gyrotonic exercise and/or yoga everyday. I practice what I preach.

I am a Certified Holistic Health Counselor certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. I graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition where I studied integrative nutrition and holistic health. I work with you to create balance in all areas of your life including health, physical activity, career, relationships, home environment, home cooking, education, career, finances, creativity, spirituality, joy and social life. I have found that creating daily rituals is a key to balance and living well. For instance every morning when I wake up the first thing I do is exercise and deep breathing techniques. This gets my body and mind energized for the day. I honestly can not imagine starting a day withough movement. I help you create daily rituals and balance in your life.

I am a Certified Nutritional Consultant and completed the Holistic Nutrition Program at Tulsi Holistic Living. I am a member of The American Association of Nutritional Consultants. Nutrition is one of the most important keys to healthy living. When you fuel your body and mind with the correct nutrients you will have the energy you need to live life to its fullest potential. Due to the bio-individuality of each individual what works for one person does not work for the next person. I work with you to discover what eating style and foods work for you. I work with you to develop an eating program that includes not only what foods you eat but how you eat and why you eat certain foods. I use nutrition to improve the healing process with many of my physical therapy and movement patients and clients.

I'm passionate about healthy eating and food preparation. I became a vegetarian in the sixth grade and have been experimenting with food and eating styles ever since. Today, I am a flexatarian. I listen to my body on a daily basis and provide it with the fuel I feel it needs. I have learned to make simple and delicious healthy meals and snacks including on-the-go fuel. The key is buying only the freshest and healthiest ingredients so you can't help but make delicious meals and snacks.

I combine my expertise in exercise and movement, nutrition and holistic health to develop a complete wellness lifestyle for you. I help you make healthy choices in many areas of your life including your daily exercise habits, eating habits and rituals. We work together to help you create balance in all areas of your life including family, work and personal. I help you establish goals and an action plan to meet those goals.

I live in Bethesda, Maryland with my son, Mason and husband, Jospeh. Mason was born on October 19, 2006. Having a baby has been such an amazing experience. He reminds me everyday to not take life so seriously and to remember what is truly important in life. He has shown me how importnant laughter and play are in life. I had a very healthy pregnancy and am passionate about working with expectant moms and new moms to help them have healthy experiences. Through exercise, nutrition and holistic health I work with moms-to-be preparing them for pregnancy and new moms helping them to rehabilitate from giving birth.

I previously founded and owned Optimal Body, LLC, a private physical therapy practice in Washington DC. I also co-owned a physical therapy and wellness practice which combined alternative physical therapy treatments with health, fitness and wellness services such as pilates, exercise, personal training and massage.

WELLNESS LIVING TIP

Drink More Water and Enjoy It

One of the best things you can do to improve your health is drink more water. Make it a priority to drink clean filtered water throughout the day. Add cucumber, lemon or lime slices to add flavor. Start the day with warm water with lemon to help cleanse the body. Eat loads of raw fruits and vegetables which have a high water content. If you drink caffeine remember to drink even more water to make up for its dehydrating effects.

Why Eat Superfoods?

Ideally we would get all our nutrients from the foods we eat. However, due to our modern lifestyle and toxins the body does not get the nutrients it needs to maintain optimal health. Superfoods are nutrient-dense plant foods with extraordinary properties. Many of them contain all essential amino acids, high levels of minerals and unique nutrients. Some of the superfoods we recommend include Spirulina, Blue-Green Algae, Chlorella, Bee pollen, Maca, Cacao Beans, Goji Berries, Hemp Seed and Wild Young Coconut.
